Chromatic Arcana 04 - Pumpkins, Pow Wow, and Producers (October Special Digest)

Please note - this post was originally circulated via the Chromatic Arcana Patreon, supported by readers like you!

It’s Fall. Grab your pumpkin tinted shades and sit down for some Good Shit.

First off, thanks to this month’s Producers:

Last week I spent some time with some of my family for my 30th birthday. We stayed in Oceanside, with trips to Cape Lookout, Sand Lake, and Astoria:

My friend Nation tipped me off to this book on Pennsylvania German Pow Wow, which has been a reignited interest of mine:

This was started thanks to a post by Apparition Books in Washington. Looks like they have a lot of interesting books on a regular basis!

One of my great-grandmothers was a practitioner based in Berks County, which has drawn me to learn more about it. I like to keep in mind that a lot of these practices were done to help formalize a desired outcome - be it the health of a sick relative or prosperity in general.

heart. is making decent progress, though I don’t want to spoil anything more at the moment. Inking starts in November, so expect to see some more in the months to come.

I also want to formally announce that I have the comics background assistance of @abartoart this time around; her work drives me to polish mine. Allison mentioned posting some of the stuff soon, so keep her on your radar!

I’ll be returning to a weekly post schedule with updates next week.

I hope you’re hanging in there; have a Happy Halloween!
